The brand is known for producing German premium cars: sports cars, race cars and SUVs. This great concern is also working on improving car designs and refinement of various components.

Nowadays the company has stepped far ahead, starting to produce cars with electric motors, by 2030 representatives of the brand guarantee to equip up to 80% of vehicles with this type of engine. This will save resources and improve auto performance, but any car requires periodic replacement parts.

How to choose parts for your Porsche

The key to the long-term service of the car are qualitatively selected components from responsible and reliable manufacturers. Auto parts market pleases with an extensive catalog that allows you to select any part, depending on personal preferences, financial capabilities, quality level of parts and desired outcome. Vehicle owners are offered to choose between original parts and their cheap analogues.

How to choose spare parts by car make and model

Each car is unique, so you need to be serious about finding parts:

1.  You can entrust the search to a professional who understands the groups and types of components, which will not allow you to make a wrong choice and save time.

2. search yourself - many stores in the catalogs can find parts by make and model of the car.

But sometimes a car model has several variants of one part. This is the case with different configurations. In this case you need to continue selecting parts by other criteria.

How do I know the part number (code) of your Porsche?

Each component of the car has its own special code, which is assigned to it during production. This combination is stamped or molded on the part itself.

There are parts that do not have this number, as they are installed in a standard position, and it is only possible to examine it after taking apart the entire work unit. If it is not possible to find out the code, one can continue the search by alternative means.

What can be found out with the help of VIN-code

The VIN number is a special vehicle identification code. As a rule, it consists of 17 characters and is divided into sections. Each section can tell special information about the vehicle in question. With this identifier, you can find out:

- where the vehicle was manufactured;

- manufacturer's concern code;

- brand;

- color;

- engine, gearbox, and even axle specifications.

This number is unique and cannot be repeated. Its deciphering will allow you to find out complete information about the machine and its configuration. You can find out the code from the documents. For example, it is fixed in the certificate of registration of the vehicle and in the car's passport. This identifier is also written in the contract when purchasing a car.

Currently, there are a lot of servers, which can decipher the VIN number for free, but this decoding may not be complete, as each manufacturer has its own coding algorithms. For a quick search of the needed parts it is better to know not only the VIN, but also other information about the car.

Which parts are better analog or original?

Original spare parts are produced under the brand of the car, they are reliable, of high quality and will last a long time. Such parts are fully identical to those already installed in the car during assembly at the factory. This minimizes errors in their selection. Since such parts are of the highest quality, their price is high. Most of the catalogs are occupied by a variety of analog components - they also differ in price and quality.

Basically, analogs are made by third-party factories, which produce such parts under their brand name, or such parts are sold under the names of the companies-packers. Often analogs are of lower quality, which is why they may not fit the car or when installing it will be necessary to modify it. Many craftsmen use a file to turn analogs into originals, but this does not extend the life of the part.

How to distinguish between original Porsche parts and analog parts

Original accessories:

- Packaged in branded boxes with the brand name of the car manufacturer;

- necessarily have a special catalog number;

- They indicate the country where the part was manufactured.

These data are always duplicated on the part itself - depending on the type of part the method of application may vary. The data about it can be typed, printed with paint or put on a QR code. The original parts are supplied with a technical specification document or an instruction manual.

What is an OEM number

To easily and quickly find the right part, factories have invented codes in the catalogs for each auto part. These are the OEM numbers - in other words a unique product catalogue code (cross-code).
